Application Process

To rent a berth, applicant must:

  • Provide a copy of current DMV registration or U.S. Coast Guard Documentation. (If your vessel has been recently purchased, a copy of the bill-of-sale and receipt showing fees have been paid to the DMV will be required.)

  • Carry a Protection and Indemnity liability insurance policy with a $300,000 minimum per occurrence on the vessel. In addition, the City of Sacramento, its officials, employees and volunteers must be named as an additional insured. (WE DO NOT ACCEPT INTERESTED PARTY)

Please note that we must have the first two items in hand before renting a berth and that the lease will not be executed until your vessel has been measured by Marina Staff. The overall length of your boat is not the registered or manufactured length. We measure from the very end of the swim platform to the very tip of the bow pulpit.

After the Marina Office confirms availability of the desired berth:

  1. Complete the following forms at the Marina Office: Application for Berth (pdf) and Berth License Agreement. (pdf)
  2. Pay all related fees, including:
    • First month's rent.
    • A security deposit equal to the first month's rent.
    • $25.00 deposit per key.
    • If renting after the 20th of the month, rent for the following month is also due.
      * Fees must be paid on the day of signing.
